If I could give massive hugs to each and every one of you who took time out of your super busy lives to message me, comment on the work that’s being done, read my postings, shared my postings, etc etc etc., trust me I would! It makes my heart and soul so happy that loads of you are being touched by the work SKT are doing on the grounds and wanting to know how to get involved which is amazing! I promise sometime this week I’ll have an extra post focused solely on how one goes about volunteering with SKT for the Reyhanli deployment specifically as a bit of a guide for those interested! X Today was packing day and what an experience! We were driven to a nearby warehouse where the SKT Turkey team store food items and boxes; rows of massive white boxes were already aligned waiting for us upon arrival (empty of course!) We were given a demonstration on how to pack the items so as to avoid over-spillage and I guess just ensuring everything fit comfortably!  The contents of the parcels vary based on the region from which SKT is operating from whilst still sticking to… View Post

Gosh, where to begin when your heart and soul are filled to the brim and you kinda sorta just wish all the worlds problems could be solved with hugs and smiles and laughter x Got in late last night and managed to meet everyone I was meant to meet. Headed to the hotel and had a much needed freaking sleep! You know the snickers advert ‘you’re not you when you’re hungry?’, I’m deffo not meself when I’m tired lol I don’t think many people are, but regardless..! Had a bit of a later start to the day seeing as the rest of our deployment group is arriving later today so the real work officially starts tomorrow. Qes took me to his beloved rooftop space which I’ve definitely been envious of after creeping his instapostings haha and eep! Such a beautiful view of the entire city and totally been inspired to hit up other rooftops in the future inshallah! P.s how epic are the photos he took?! cue my half epic one of him………. Headed to the ‘Springs of Hope’ after a bit and got the chance to see the fantabulous work SKT’s done for so many of the refugees! Springs… View Post

Merhaba! If you follow me on snapchat and Instagram, you’ll know I’m currently headed to an ickle place called Reyhanli in the south of Turkey to do some volunteer work and help out with whatever really. From what I know and have seen/creeped, a majority of people in and around the area are victims of the Syrian crisis, potentially refugees, and there are loads of cute children whom I want to hug endlessly! *(you’ll more than likely get a more detailed description of what I’m doing once I get there!) The organization itself is called ‘SKT welfare’ based in the UK and they operate on a 100% donation policy which I love love love. I went to uni for Intl. Development and loved every second of what I learned, but the hypocrisy of some NGO’s and charitable organizations who raise loads of money for those in need but fail to deliver it in its entirety is always mind boggling. (err Grenfell Tower, where’d it all go?) but anyways, I’m super excited and looking forward to have that ‘on-the-grounds’ experience and just share whatever I can offer to do my bit for humanity really. I wanted to go into development to… View Post

unisex trainers. that is all. Aldo has come out with the Aldo Mx trainers in a range of pretty must-have shades of the season! [white, black, soft pink, light grey, beige, light tealy green, and red] Literally a trainer which looks slick AF without the extras, just a chic clean-cut shoe with which the styling options are endless! They’re categorized by women/mens in terms of sizes, but the shoe style itself stays exactly the same which is super neat! (cue couple ootds #twinning) I was sent the white pair by the lovelies at Aldo, and tbh my eyes had to adjust to how impeccably white they looked in the box haha (my converse are due for a wash) mamas main concern was how I was going to wear them without getting them dirty lawl. Styled them with this gorg two-piece from Zara which had me feeling pretty shofishticated when I tried it on (I know its spelt incorrectly..!); don’t quite own a ‘suit’ per say in me wardrobe, which I convinced myself every teacher should have (right?!) et voila! Also super in love with me belt bag and felt it added to the street-chic look/vibe thingamajig I was going for… View Post

Another Huw Roman piece coming at you today! (click here incase you missed the first piece!) Envision a unique, upscaled upgrade to the everyday shirtdress, and you’ve got this gorgeous lightweight beauty! This is the Raglan Shirt Dress, made from a beautiful material called ‘oxijewel’ developed by one of Japan’s most reputable fabric makers, Toray. It’s extremely lightweight which makes it super comfortable alongside being super practical because a) loads of room to move within, and b) pockets!! It’s also got a bit of a ballooning bulge if you will (in a good way!) which gives it this voluminous elegance as you walk. Super intentional lol as the bulge falls vertically rather than out from the side in order to provide that depth effect! Absolutely in love with the sleeves on this; the bulge effect carries into the sleeves a tad, tapering down into a thickish cuff which is beaut! Hopefully you’ve had a chance to check out Haute Elan by now! In case you haven’t, it’s literally ‘the’ spot for the latest in all things modest fashion! Housing over 200 designers from all over the world, they ship to customers in 220 countries and offer a seamless shopping experience across desktops, mobiles… View Post
