This is the Raglan Shirt Dress, made from a beautiful material called ‘oxijewel’ developed by one of Japan’s most reputable fabric makers, Toray. It’s extremely lightweight which makes it super comfortable alongside being super practical because a) loads of room to move within, and b) pockets!!
It’s also got a bit of a ballooning bulge if you will (in a good way!) which gives it this voluminous elegance as you walk. Super intentional lol as the bulge falls vertically rather than out from the side in order to provide that depth effect!

Absolutely in love with the sleeves on this; the bulge effect carries into the sleeves a tad, tapering down into a thickish cuff which is beaut!

I present you Huw Roman Inc., an up-and-coming modest wear fashion company out of Tokyo aspiring to provide quality and comfort to women all over the world.

The Huw Roman woman is a woman with strong moral principles, one who is honest, intellectual, sophisticated, delicate, independent, chic, charming, modern and who has a lot of faith in oneself.

(Am I allowed to be slightly flattered?!)

The core concept behind the brand is also based upon these characteristics, with “粋” (Iki) – representing delicacy, individuality and chicness and”薫” (Kaoru) representing the atmosphere of illusion, nuance, romanticism, and reality.

I was sent this beautiful kimono sleeve jacket alongside another piece (you’ll see it soon promise!) and I kid you not, even my 98 year-old grandmother insisted on having a feel because yes, it looked that gorgeous. The magic lies in the material which features an uneven grosgrain fabric which is thin, glossy, and rich in texture. Using grosgrain allows the appearance of a more causal and relaxing look; so although the sleeves appear to be a kimono sleeve, it’s been designed in such a way that they gradually widen in shape towards the cuff.

It also features a beautiful back slit kept together with a black ribbon and…pockets! yay! Pockets are always a win with me and instantly up the functionality and practicality of pieces!

The quality of this jacket is unbelievable and it adds an immediate minimalistic and chic put-togetherness to ones outfit! I can totally see this on top of a pair of denim and a black t-shirt, or even coloured trousers for an added pop of color if you like!

If you’ve fallen as in love with their pieces as I have, head over to Haute Elan where you’ve got access to loads of amazing brands such as this one and help yourself to 20% off by clicking here using the code ‘ saira20 ‘ ! (your wardrobe will thank me later!) x
